The CSS Seabird was a side-wheel steamer commissioned by the Confederate Navy in 1861 and commanded by William F. Lynch. The Seabird was the flagship of the Confederate Navy's "Mosquito Fleet."  The ship was used in the defense of Roanoke Island on February 7–8, 1862, and was then rammed and sunk by the USS Commodore Perry at the Battle of Elizabeth City on February 10.
